We know travelling, although amazing, can sometimes be a little stressful, especially if you have braces or clear aligners that have the potential to get things stuck in them. Making sure you’ve got all you need to be able to properly clean your braces or aligners is a must, so we put together a checklist of what we suggest to have!

Items to make cleaning your mouth on-the-go, a breeze:

  1. Portable Toothbrush

Having a toothbrush handy while you’re travelling with braces or aligners is the most practical way to clean your teeth. With or without water, a toothbrush is able to help you in getting in those hard to reach places and cleaning your brackets and teeth.

  1. Floss

By now, we’re sure you know how much we love to talk about floss. Be an absolute boss and carry floss with you while you travel! Flossing once a day if you have aligners will help to get plaque and food out from between your teeth and keep your aligners fitting perfectly. If you wear braces, it’s a little more difficult to get in between your teeth with floss, but don’t worry, click here to read our post all about how to floss with braces!

  1. Orthodontic Wax

We know having a wire shift and poke the inside of your mouth is not a pleasant experience, especially when you’re away from home. This is where having a little bit of wax with you will go a long way. If a wire moves or any other sort of braces-related discomfort occurs, you can simply put a bit of wax over it to alleviate the pain until you can get in to see us.

Regardless of if you have braces or aligners, it is important to clean your teeth multiple times a day and be prepared to do so when you’re out and about or travelling. By having the 3 items listed, you’ll be doing your future self a favor and make your tooth cleaning process a breeze!
